I am a Tupelo native, although I lived in Mesquite, Tx., briefly, in the mid-80's.
I began as a part-timer on KZ103 in 1987, at the age of 18. Boy - it seems like a lifetime ago! I've spent my entire 24 year radio career with KZ103! I've worked just about every shift on the station. I started out on overnights, progressed to nights, afternoons, mornings (running kidd Kraddick) and now, I do middays (10am until 3pm).
I married my husband, Johnny, in Oct. of 2005.
Join me weekdays on KZ103 from 10am until 3pm for plenty of today's best music!
We also have the best of the 80's & 90's every weekday from Noon until 1 o'clock with the Flashback Lunch, brought to you by Coca-Cola & McDonalds! We even have goodies for you to win with the Flashback Challenge!

How about a couple of Valentine's Day dessert ideas? I love these because they are so simple, and I'm ALL about food that is simple to make!
I made these for my hubby on Valentine's Day a few years ago. So cute, and SO good!

I was inspired by my co-worker, Michelle Lockhart, to make a big pot of soup this afternoon. She made a big pot of Chicken Noodle Soup a few days ago, and it sounded so good that I had to make some, too! I found this recipe online for Creamy Chicken Noodle Soup. I made a few adjustments and came out with a wonderful pot of soup! Yum!
Divinity Recipe!!

In the treat-making category, I had one success and one failure this holiday season. I made divinity for my co-workers and it turned out pretty well. It wasn't perfect, as it came out a little bit dry and crumbly, but it was still quite good. Click on the picture below for the recipe I used (the only difference is that I used 1/2 tsp. of Cream of Tartar in my egg whites when I beat them).
I tried to make Oreo Balls for family this wknd & it was a total disaster. The oreo/cream cheese mix was mush and didn't get as thick as it should have in the fridge, then the almond bark was so thick that the dipping process didn't work too well. It all ended up in the garbage. That is my last attempt at making Oreo Balls!
Creamy, pasta goodness!

Most of the time, I try to only pass along recipes I have actually tried and liked. This one is definitely a keeper! I made this Sunday aftn for my hubby & I loved it so much that I made it again last night! It's fabulous the next day, too! Creamy Cajun Chicken Pasta! Yum!

Fall is here and I find myself, once again, in a pumpkin-kind-of-mood! I've come across a lot of pumpkin desserts I would like to make and thought I would share some of them with you!
But to start, here is one I did make 2 years ago for Thanksgiving. It was fabulous and didn't last long in our house! Four Layer Pumpkin Cake!
At the very top of my list of pumpkin recipes to try is this one for Pumpkin Gingerbread Trifle by Paula Deen. I came across this recipe a couple of years ago, and have never had the chance to try it. I am determined to make time for it this season!
I had never heard of Pumpkin Fudge before coming across this recipe. Sounds pretty darn good!
Oh my... these sound incredible How can Pumpkin Pie Bars not be good?
Since Whoopie Pies are all that rage right now, I just had to throw in this recipe for Pumpkin-Spiced Whoopie Pies!
I have a great recipe for Cinnamon Bread that I use every Christmas. This year, however, I'm ready to try Pumpkin Bread and this recipe apparently got rave reviews!
This Pumpkin Dip looks divine!! Great idea for a holiday party!
Well, I can't do a blog on pumpkin recipes and not include some form of pumpkin pie. I like this one because it looks delish and super easy!!!
Sinful treat!

If you're on facebook, this is a great site you should check out! You can get info on the latest FB scams (such as the rumor going around this week that FB is about to start charging). They have great info on security and privacy issues. And catch up on the latest social media news. I have found LOADS of great info on this site!
Very useful!!

Toys!!!!

Today, my mind drifted to childhood toys for some reason. One of the wonderful things about the internet is that you can find photos of just about any item that has existed (which can also be a bad thing, but that is another story for another time)! So I hunted down some photos of my favorite childhood toys. These toys sure do bring back some great memories!
Okay, gotta start off with the Easy Bake Oven. I can tell you that my baked creations these days don't turn out much better than these did back in the 70's! Never have been good at baking! But I really did love to try my hand at it with my Easy Bake Oven. Seemed so magical when I was a kid!
The year that I received my Lite-Brite set from Santa Claus was a big one! I don't think I ever finished any of the projects I began on it, however, I used to love to pretend to be a switchboard operator when putting the pegs in!
The Lemon Twist was always one of my faves! My Mom worried I would break my ankle. I never did, but I am so clumsy and uncoordinated that I can understand her concern! I never was very good at slinging that thing around without my ankle taking a pounding!
Weebles!!! I loved these things! Would play with my Weeble marina and boat for hours on end! This was another gift from Santa! (Yes, Santa was VERY good to us!)
Here I am with my own Weebles in 1972! And, apparently carrying on a very important fake-phone conversation!
The grandaddy of all toys for me, always, was Barbie! Oh, I loved her so!! In fact, my cousin and I, who were big Barbie-playing buddies, collected quite a few barbies, along with assorted inflatable furniture, wicker furniture, clothes and jewelry. We would use album covers as walls, and make our own barbie houses!
Oh - and how could I forget my beloved Barbie Camper! Here I am with mine in 1972! (And don't you just love that sylish 70's tv tray in the background!)
So, do you think, at age 42, that I am too old to ask Santa for another Easy Bake Oven & Lite Brite Set? Maybe I could be 4 years old all over again! Of course my husband might argue that I act that age sometimes anyway! :)
Fruit Cakes!!!

So, does anything get a bad rap during the holidays like fruit cakes?
So many jokes are made about this poor, misunderstood dessert. Believe it or not, there is such a thing as a GOOD fruitcake. Hey - I'll even go a step further and say it's GREAT! Click on the photo above to find out more about them. They're made by a company in Texas and their client list each holiday season even includes the rich and famous. Now, they are a little pricey, so if you wanna make a cheaper alternative, check out my recipe below for Fruit Cake Balls. If you like sweets, you gotta give these a try. They are SO good! I can't stop eating them and nearly make myself sick on them!
Fruit Cake Balls
2 cups mini marshmallows
2 cups graham cracker crumbs (reserve extra for coating)
1 cup chopped maraschino cherries (use a mixture of red & green for extra color)
1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk (Eagle Brand or generic version)
1/2 cup chopped pecans
Combine all above ingredients and mix well. I usually put in fridge for an hour or so to help the mixture firm up before rolling. Shape into balls and roll in graham cracker crumbs to coat. Keep in fridge.
(The neat thing about these treats is that you can roll them in whatever you prefer - chopped coconut, cocoa, crushed cookies, etc. We prefer them best with the graham cracker crumbs! Yum! )

I tried Homemade Cranberry Sauce for the first time a few years ago with a recipe from my favorite site, All Recipes. It was soooo good! Now, I do admit, I love the canned stuff. In fact, I could eat it by itself right out of the can, and probably have! But it was kinda nice to do the real thing at least once. If you want to give it a shot, click below for the recipe I used. So simple it's ridiculous!
By the way, you can probably find a recipe for just about any dish that comes to mind on this site!
